Paris 2017
October 14-21 2017
At the beginning of October one of my long-lost friends posted on Facebook that he was going to Paris and London for his Birthday and wanted to know if anyone was interested. I saw his post and immediately had questions. The first question was, when are you leaving? and his reply was… in two weeks. That is short notice for anyone for such a big trip but I knew this was fate. I had been saving up all of my travel points with Marriott and Delta to do just that, travel to Europe. And so the trip became reality.
All photos were taken with my iPhone or old Nikon DSLR and are not edited beyond the slight filters (meaning; there are some poor quality photos).
Checking into our room. It was so quaint and cute with this amazing view. We were in walking distance to everything.
Some of the sights close to our hotel. Paris has its variety of architecture, its not just old Parisian buildings.
A night stroll on the Seine River after a long day strolling through Paris.
I couldn’t get enough of the architecture throughout the city. So much ornate detailing.
The bridge pictured above is the well-known bridge of love locks, when we were there it was boarded off and they were taking all of the locks off. The weight of the locks were causing damage to the bridge.
Also pictured is the Assemblée Nationale and the super well known Arc de Triomphe.
The Arc can be seen from many different areas in Paris. Up close taking a selfie was the best, but you can also see it from afar or from your favorite macaron shop, Pierre Hermé Paris.
(I am not standing in the road, there is a median)
Paris currency and desserts
A collage of the Eiffel Tower. Because you cant get just one picture of the most iconic structure in the world, duh.
… and some more Eiffel Tower views. OK, I’m done, I promise!
Notre Dame
What and incredible experience to be able to walk into and explore such an old historical place.
Before hopping on our bus tour we walked the streets close to the bus stop and found this gem of an alley called Rue Galande, made up of bistros and shops that are only accessible by foot.
The inside of the Palace of Versailles was something you will not see anywhere else. The grandness of the bedrooms, ballrooms, dinning rooms, and every detail put into making this a palace was top notch.
Just a tiny scale of the gardens that you can view on the property
Late nights in Paris
Day and night shots of the Louvre
The Louvre is MASSIVE! There is a wide variety of history and exhibits to be seen within its walls. I do not recommend missing ANY of it!
Of course, some stuff was boring to me and some stuff was AH-MAZING, but my friend enjoyed exhibits I did not so there is something for everyone. That is the legit Mona Lisa too! How incredible.
More night shots of the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (NOT the Arc de Triomphe).
Random Paris architecture
In the end, we did find the perfect place to attach our lock.
If you’re in Paris, check out the street sign at the BIG BUS stop, located at Voie Georges Pompidou (road) and Pont des Arts (bridge).
