Rifle Falls SP

Rifle Falls is a waterfall to remember

July 9, 2020

We booked a room at the well known (and haunted) Hotel Colorado and decided to visit Rifle Falls the next morning.

Breakfast is the best way to start a long day, and we had heard that Daily Bread was the spot to get the best. After breakfast, we walked around downtown to check out the stores before departing to Rifle Falls.

Rifle Falls is a super short hike to the falls. The parking lot is small and does fill up fast, but people are always leaving, so the wait was short. We did pass by some campers, so I assume you can camp there.

This place is WOW! Seriously spectacular. The whole time we felt like we were in a jungle in some far off land. Dogs are allowed but not allowed in the water.

Beyond the falls are many shallow caves that you can walk into.

We spent around two hours at Rifle Falls before heading home. The entrance fee is $9 unless you have a Colorado State Park pass, then it is free. This is one of those places you need to see and make a pit stop when in Colorado.
